Case Study
Karl Bär is a German environmentalist and agricultural policy expert who was hit with a SLAPP as a result of his work for the Munich Environmental Institute. Bär advocates for a pesticide-free agriculture and was sued by the South-Tyrolean agricultural minister, Arnold Schuler, after criticising high pesticide use in the region’s apple industry. Over 1370 fruit-growers from South Tyrol joined the criminal complaint.
